Hello, I’m Cody! I’m an artist with a passion for creating stuff.
I specialize in creating illustrations and print design. I license and sell artwork for commercial use in the surface pattern design, home decor and publishing industries. I will also happily accept commissions for graphic design, editorial and illustration.
I have worked on projects from art and design for logos, magazine articles, books, patterns for wallpaper, fabric and gift wrap, wall art, greeting cards, photo cards, and many different types of photo gift products for the consumer and professional trade markets.
I’m incredibly detail oriented, have a flair for organization and enjoy the technical side of my profession. It’s always a delight for me when I learn a new skill or trick! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. If I don’t have what you need, please let me know. I would love to create something exclusively for you!
The Skinny on my Artistic Journey and Inspiration
I started my career in the publishing industry primarily designing for magazines in the consumer home and lifestyle markets. After my stint in publication, I illustrated and created photo card and gift product templates for Miller’s Professional Imaging and Mpix. Eventually, I was offered the opportunity to manage the art acquisition and template implementation workflow for both brands. I’ve worked with a lot of great artists and through them I was introduced to the world of surface pattern design.
I’m inspired by nature, my travels, color, pop culture, other artists, design and art history. I’m especially fascinated by myths, legends and folklore. I would describe my style as sophisticated, whimsy that tends to lean toward kids and the young at heart. When I'm not working on my art projects I’m usually spending time with my family, baking sweets, bullet journalling, reading or drinking tea.
I also love to paint and create mixed media three-dimensional artworks. The fantastical is a particular theme I like to play around with in the art I create. I like to work with all types of media but my favorite are colored pencil, charcoal, pen and ink and acrylic paint. It’s always a bonus for me to find ways to incorporate found objects into my work such as feathers, pressed flowers, rocks or interesting items I come across.
